Betts, Harris Information

I'm planning a trip to the Brownhelm area in order to better appreciate the "old stomping grounds" of several of my ancestors, namely Dr. and Rev. Alfred H. Betts, his wife, Sally, her sister, Abigail Harris (later, Abigail Monteith), etc. Dr. Betts was the first full time minister of the Congregational Church. I'm am preparing a book about his life and times and am open to suggestions of things to do and places to visit and see.
What suggestions to you all have in my quest for finding out more about my ancestors and their lives in Brownhelm?
